Exercise, just get it done



Having trouble getting motivated to shed those holiday pounds?  When temperatures plummet and skies are grey it can be even more difficult to squeeze in that much needed exercise.  A combination of metabolism boosting choices and short bursts of exercise will yield even faster results. It may sound backwards but if you want to slim down you actually have to eat.so many people think that skipping breakfast is a good way to lose weight but it actually has the opposite effect, kick start your metabolism each morning with a healthy choice. Choose a have a slice of whole wheat toast with reduced fat peanut butter or try my latest favorite, old fashioned oatmeal sweetened with half of a ripe banana. Next get moving, while out running errands opt for athletic shoes, you will take more steps if your feet are comfortable,  park far away from the entrance and take the stairs instead of elevators, every little bit helps to burn calories.  To keep your metabolism revved, have a mid-morning and mid afternoon snack of fruit, nonfat yogurt or a palm full of nuts.  Cut back just a little at your main meals and this will keep your blood sugar stable all day.  During the day add short bursts of exercise by running in place for 1 minute or doing 30 jumping jacks.  Concentrate on taking in foods that are low fat and high protein and remember to head to the gym 3-4 days a week for cardio and weight lifting exercises.  You will be amazed at how fast these simple changes will add up to a slimmer waistline!
