Tuaca Truffles



Chocolate is everywhere, this time of year all tied up in pretty packages and heart shaped boxes, no wonder we equate love with chocolate. There is something so provocative about the rich dark creamy texture, the way it melts on your tongue with an explosion of unmistakable flavor.  I crave it every day so the news that this stuff is actually good for you is music to my ears!  If you are looking for a fantastic treat to make the ones you love for Valentine’s Day this year, try my Tuacca truffles, they are simple and delicious. 

Ingredients
1 cup heavy cream
3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon Tuaca
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup powdered sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa
 
Heat cream in medium saucepan until it begins to steam.   Add Tuaca, vanilla and remove from heat.  Add chocolate and stir until almost incorporated, add butter, continue to stir until completely smooth.  Refrigerate for until chocolate has solidified about 3 hours.  Combine powdered sugar and cocoa on a plate.  Using a melon scoop, and your hands, roll chocolate mixture into balls, roll the balls into the cocoa mixture.  Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
