Kingston Public Schools is hosting its third annual Pink Out Cancer event in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
The National Honor Society chapter is currently selling pink Kingston Redskins T-Shirts to raise money for and awareness of the battle against breast cancer. About one in eight women in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in her life, and some men are affected, according to information provided by the ACS.
The shirts cost $10 (add $2 for XXL and XXXL), and will be available in time for the Pink Out Cancer home game against Marietta Oct. 12. Additionally badges in honor or in memory of breast cancer patients will be available at the gate of the football game on a donation-only basis.
Proceeds benefit the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Members are also seeking to compile a list of breast cancer survivors in Marshall County.
To purchase a shirt, register a survivor or for more information, see any Kingston National Honor Society member or call sponsor Sandee Westmoreland at 580-564-2384.
