CASA Volunteers

CASA Volunteer Advocates may offer the only stable relationship these children experience as they move from foster homes to permanent placement.
They speak for the best interests of the child after research, review, and, most importantly, learning the wishes of the child.
They  are thoroughly trained in courtroom procedure, social services, juvenile justice system and the special needs of these vulnerable children.
They are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court.

Last year in Collin County, more than 750 children were removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment, trapped in the court and child welfare maze.

To volunteer, contact the CASA office. www.casaofcollincounty.org

CASA of Collin County is headquartered in McKinney Texas, near the downtown square at 101 E. Davis St.  972.529.2272 or by fax at 972.529.2275.

Offices are open Mon-Fri from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

SPCA of McKinney

SPCA Volunteer Opportunity:
Animal Ambassadors ensure that the mission of the organization is met. This program ensures the animals receive exceptional care while they wait for their forever homes by allowing volunteers to assist staff with several different tasks in the shelter.
You must be 18 years old, if 12 - 17 years old you must volunteer with a parent or guardian. We ask for a time commitment of 8 hours to be fulfilled within two months of attending the new volunteer orientation. There are four shifts to choose from seven days a week: 8:30-10:30am, 12-2pm, 2-4pm, and 4-6pm. You will have the opportunity to schedule your shifts once the volunteer process is complete.
Once this time commitment is fulfilled you can move on to other programs such as Foster, Adoption Counseling, TLC (Tender Loving Care), and much more or continue in this program. Other programs require additional training. Please visit www.spca.org to submit a volunteer application and learn more.
