The city of Severance, Colorado has had an active ban on snowball fights for the past 98 years. Well, the law states that you “you couldn’t throw objects at people, animals, or property.” That technically makes a snowball fight illegal, but no one has ever been arrested for having one.
On Monday, nine-year-old Dane Best showed up to a city council meeting in hopes of overturning the law. He talked to the council for three minutes on why the law was unjust.
In the end, the council voted UNANIMOUSLY to overturn the law. Dane and his younger brother even threw the first LEGAL snowballs, after the Mayor presented Dane with two snowballs outside after the meeting.
